The results for the 2007 ordinary council election are out and the new councillors are below. Cr Don Hanran-Smith has been returned to Council, while Brian Box has not been reelected. Five new councillors have been elected. Detailed results are below.

Your Council Candidates

Nominations closed yesterday for the Shire of Busselton ordinary council election. Eleven candidates have put themselves up for the six available positions. The postal election will be held on Saturday 20 October, 2007 and electors will receive their voting packages on 24 September. Click on the candidates name for a detailed profile.

Reid and Holland Stepping Down

Deputy Shire President Philippa Reid and Councillor Jane Holland will not be running for re election at this years ordinary election. Of the four councillors up for re election only Brian Box and Don Hanan Smith will run.

Council Election

An ordinary postal election will be held in the Shire of Busselton on 20 October, 2007 for 6 Councillors to serve 4 year terms. Nominations open on Thursday 6 September and close at 4.00pm on Thursday 13 September and must be lodged with the Returning Officer at the Shire offices.
